Covid-19 alternative learning

Due to the progression of COVID-19 the university was forced to close; as from this point we no longer had access to workshops or studio spaces. From which all of our work will be conducted at home combining studio space and at home environment into one. This not only restricts us in terms of space to work but also the sense of community. It also limits our materials and workshop access, restricting what work can be made within the home.

However, this should not stunt our progress too much as our course is designed to focus within alternative learning spaces and this is an opportunity for us all to develop our ideas closer within that realm. Unfortunately, the Turves green school and many more ongoing projects have been cancelled due to the closure of most spaces and the encouragement of social distancing/self-isolation. This however difficult to come to terms with, gives us an opportunity to consider the possibilities of alternative outcomes. The BOM project will be moving to a digital gallery space and everyone is adapting their work to work within that. We have set up a digital class on Microsoft teams and we will all be communicating in that digital classroom via video calls and a timeline.
