Idea on the Narrative project

Narratives present in interests:

· Fear

· How fear and art can connect

· Connecting education, the way it’s taught using fear within art as a conceptual frame to create new ways of teaching and collaborating.

Where do I want to take them this term?

· Collaborating/working with collage/community of people doing workshops on education and fear

· What kind of workshops?- ideas

1. Making fear- can you make fear?- bring a range of materials to explore how they would explore their own fears or collective fears

2. Can fear connect or isolate communities – a discussion on how fear can play in the everyday

3. Can art be a therapy for fear?- discussion, mind mapping seminar?

4. How can art of the future help/aid society in the future – especially in terms of collective fear/social fears

Where could this work go this term?

· go to local college/community (ie; Stafford college) and work with the adults of the future through workshops and seminars/discussions

· workshops, seminars, performances, exhibitions as a collective group

what spaces,places,recources do I need?

· Mixed materials (ie; clay, paper, fabric, ect ect)

Overall I aim to create a body of work/singular collaborative piece that explores the narrative surrounding fear within art and how that can be a springboard for change, in the way in which we can engage people/pupils within art education. How can fear within art change the way in which we teach, can we connect deeper into our emotions through fear using this emotional archaeology to create more meaningful and more engaging work and form of teaching. Or will this become a self-absorbed pretentious collection of artworks made by myself and the people. Can this be a collaborative/collective body of work that explores fear collectively aiding in understanding critical and fundamental issues within our society that can be addressed through understanding the collective fear, connecting it through art and putting it back into our society through a collective body of work/collaborative project.by working with young adults(our future) I aim to solve these thoughts through workshops, seminars and performances .Collectively coming to a conclusion through either but not exclusively a body of work created with said people or a singular piece/performance made collaboratively. I am currently contacting my old college (Stafford college) about working with the Btech extended diploma in art and design on this project. Just waiting for a response and looking at alternative places too.
